"We are informed, from good authority, that several of the late Ministry have been impeached, and that the King has appointed a committee to make the strictest inquiry into the matter in question. It is supposed that very interesting secrets will be revealed in the course of examining some very important things, which were going forwards at the latter end of the late reign.
It is positively known, during the whole time that Le Md. was not seen here, nor at court (when several were of opinion that he returned to England) he was all that time in the country seat of Duke d'Aiguillon, with whom he conferred for four or even successive days, at which, as it is supposed, matters were settled far from being interesting to France; and, if we can credit a report which is whispered here since, the Duke went to England.
Proper orders are now issued from court for preparing every thing for the consecration of his Majesty, which is now fixed to be solemnized on the 16th of June next, at Rheims."
