The announcement in yesterday's Express that Haas & Oppenheimer would retire from business came as the greatest surprise of the year and, judging from the expressions of regret heard on all sides by both sexes, it will prove a great loss to San Antonio.

From a small dry goods store, corner Soledad and Commerce, by fair dealing, courteous treatment and close application to business, they built up a trade second to none in Texas.

The reputation of Haas & Oppenheimer for fine goods extends all over Texas, and into many states, and their name will ever be synonymous of fair dealing and the best goods.

The store will be closed today and Wednesday and the army of clerks will be busy reticketing and remarking goods for the sale which begins Thursday morning.
