Two Enormous Turnips Grown Near City
Two enormous Purple Top Globe turnips, one weighing eight and a half pounds and the other seven and a half pounds, were brought to Atlanta Tuesday by C. W. Cochran, of Fairburn, Ga.
The largest one measured twenty-five inches in circumference and was eleven inches in length, while the other was slightly larger around but not so long.
Mr. Cochran stated that the turnips were raised on the bottom land of the Chattahoochee river in Campbell county. They will be on exhibition at the Everett seed store, 29 Alabama street, for the next few days.
