Full Text

Charlottesville, Va. April 4.--The University of Virginia, the exercises in which, the public are aware, have been for some time suspended, in consequence of the epidemic fever which has lately prevailed there, was again opened on Wednesday last, the 1st instant. The number of students in attendance, on that day, was, we understand, between fifty and sixty.-- The disease has entirely disappeared, and the measures adopted to guard against its occurrence, there is every reason to expect, will be effectual, and that the cloud which, for a short time, slightly obscured the prospects of this deeply interesting and important institution, will be effectually dispersed.
