Full Text

All Atlanta is looking forward to the Xmas Band and Chorus Concert Tuesday evening at the First Congregational Church, led by its own native son, Warrant Officer G. Johnson Hubert, Jr. The 173rd Army Ground Forces Band of Ft. McClellan is one of the Army's best musical organizations left in the services. The Ft. Benning Reception Center group has already been disbanded. This will perhaps be the last time Atlantan will hear the Ft. McClellan organization.

OFFICER G. J. HUBERT, Jr. Johnson Hubert is remembered as one of Atlanta's most outstanding pianists. He was an instructor of music at the David T. Howard Jr. High School prior to entering the Army, and choral director of the Junior Choir of the First Congregational Church. W. O. Hubert has been in the Service for the past few years and has given all of his talent toward the building of this outstanding musical organization.

VARIED PROGRAMS
The Fort McClellan musical organization will feature a varied program of traditional Band Selections, choral selections, Xmas carols, and one of the Army's most outstanding soloist, Cpl. Cole. This is indeed a musical concert Atlantans cannot afford to miss. And above all we owe our own native son who has given so much of his service to the Armed Forces of our Country a most cordial welcome.

The Band Concert is being sponsored in connection with the War Bond Drive which is just ending. The National Council of Negro Women, under the leadership of Mrs. William Borders, has been in the process of promoting the sale of the Roosevelt Bond for the past several weeks. Mrs. D. H. Stanton who is Chairman of the local Bond Committee promises to assist the Covenant Club, under whose auspices the Concert is being sponsored, with the sale of War Bonds.
The Fort McClellan Army Ground Forces Band and Chorus promises to bring to Atlanta a real musical treat. Tickets for the concert may be secured at the Yates and Milton Drug Store No. 1, and at the door the night of the Concert.
