Tom Wiswell, Brooklyn, N. Y. world free-style checker champion will give an exhibition tonight, 7:30 p. m. at the Westside Branch of the Young Men's Christian Association.
Mr. Wiswell won the world's championship in 1951, 1953, 1956 and 1960. He is appearing in Atlanta under the auspices of the Trojan Chess Club, William A Scott III, president.
Men and women are invited to participate or watch at the exhibition tonight which is open to the general public.
He will play up to as many as 50 players simultaneously during his appearance here.
Mr. Wiswell has been acclaimed as a topflight chess player as well as a championship performer in checkers. He will play enthusiasts of both games during the engagement. Those who would like to play chess are invited to bring their own chess men.
Members of the Trojan Chess Club in addition to Mr. Scott are K. B. Hill, Smith G. Fleming, James L. Anderson, Walter Wilson, S. L Davis, A. T. Wilson, Seaborn Brown, Sans Fitzpatrick, A. L. Turk, Robert Barber, the three Tucker brothers and the two Calloway brothers.
