Two Hundred At Testimonial

A. N. Lake, who resigned as manager of the Wayne County district of the Supreme Liberty Life Insurance Company, of Chicago, was tendered an elaborate testimonial banquet last Friday evening at the Y. W. C. A., by the officials of the Chicago office of his company, in appreciation of his fifteen years of service.

Approximately two hundred guests were in attendance at the function, including several ranking officials of the Chicago headquarters, in addition to numerous citizens and representatives from other local insurance organizations.

A sumptuous menu was served by the cafeteria department of the Y. W. C. A., after which a splendid program was presented, with W. C. Woodson, executive secretary of the St. Antoine Y. M. C. A. as master of ceremonies.

Brief talks were made by a number of guests and insurance representatives, all of whom extended felicitations to Mr. Lake and lauded him for his splendid record of achievement during his fifteen years with the Supreme Liberty Life Insurance Company. The speakers included J. Edward McCall, of the Tribune; L. C. Blount; M. L. Walker; Attorney Charles Mahoney, of Great Lakes Insurance Company; Father Malcolm Dade, of St. Cyprians Church; M. Kelley Fritz and A. G. Wright, morticians; R. C. Schuster, of U. S. Automobile Club; Senator Charles C. Diggs; the Rev. H. A. White, of Plymouth Church; Dr. Goggins, dentist; Messrs. Brown and Spence, of Liberty Life; also President Ellis Stewart, and Agency Manager J. G. Ish, of Liberty Life's Chicago office.

In appreciation of valuable service rendered the company officials of Supreme Liberty Life presented Mr. and Mrs. Lake with handsome gifts. The Lakes made brief talks, in which they thanked the insurance company and local friends for the honor shown them.

Mr. and Mrs. George W. Reed, of Dayton, were also present and were presented to the audience.
