7. What is primary Accent? Secondary?

8. What is an Affix?

9. Distinguish between magnitude and multitude.

10. When pronouns of different persons are used, in what order should they be placed?
GEOGRAPHY.

1. What are Planets?

2. How many and what are the major Planets belonging to our system?

3. By what general names are the minor Planets designated?

4. What is the highest degree of Latitude and Longitude respectively, and where located?

5. Why are the Polar Circles located just where they are, rather than a few degrees further North and South?

6. Name the Zones, tell how they are bounded, and tell what the width of each is in degrees.

7. Which is the greater, the Equatorial or Polar Diameter of the Earth, and what is the difference in miles?

8. What are the divisions of North America?

9. What are the names of the principal Bays, and where are they located?

10. What are the principal Peninsulas, and where are they found?
ARITHMETIC.

1. What will it cost to plaster a hall 40 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 15 feet high, at 75 cents per square yard?

2. If two men mow 25 acres of grass in 2 days of 10 hours each, how many hours a day must 14 men work, to mow 80 acres in 6 days?

3. If I sell tea at 13 per cent. gain, and make 10 cents a pound, what did it cost me?

4. How large a draft at 1 per cent. premium is worth 54 city bonds of $100 each at 12 per cent. discount?

5. Sold hay at $10.50 per ton and cleared 1/3 of the cost; what per cent. do I gain by selling it at $12 per ton?

6. A and B can mow a field in 10 days; if A does 3 times as much as B, how long will it take each to mow it?

7. A and B together have $500; of A's money is $50 less than 3 of B's; what sum has each?

8. Sold a horse for $129 and lost 14 per cent; for what must I sell it to gain 14 per cent.?

9. What will it cost to fill a bin 5 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 4 feet deep at 25 cents per bushel?

10. Find the cube root of 9 to 5 decimal places.
