NEW PLAN TO
BOOST THE CITY
B. M's. Association To Erect
Guide Posts. "Buy It In
Watertown."

An official design for a guide post to point the way to Watertown was adopted by the Business Men's association at the regular meeting Tuesday evening.

The sign reads "Buy it in Watertown the best place to trade." The word "Watertown" will be printed in large capitals, the second and middle line of the printed words on the guide posts, and a big red arrow through the word "Watertown" points out the direction to take to reach the city. On the feather of the arrow will be shown the distance to Watertown in miles. The letters will be in black on a background of yellow.

It was decided to use association funds to place one of these signs every mile for twelve miles on every road leading out of Watertown, and the work of securing and placing the signs was left to a committee composed of Fred Hoffmann, W. C. Raue and George Spohn.

The signs will be of sheet steel, and each will be provided with an individual steel post, that it may be placed at the side of the roadway in a prominent place. The signs will be nearly four feet long and about one foot wide. They will attract the attention not only of the farmers, but of autoists as well.

W. E. Brandt and E. H. Faber were named on a committee to act with the Advancement association in a factory proposition which was brought to the attention of the Business Men's association by Herman Wertheimer, president of the Advancement association.

Secretary Melzer was authorized to draw resolutions of condolence and sympathy to be submitted to the family of the late J. B. Murphy.
