First Call was to Tacoma.
J. L. Henderson is back on the
limited between here and Iron
River as conductor, and is punching
tickets again for passengers. Mr. J.
T. Hughes, who has had the place
for several months, has left the
Northern Pacific railroad, and has
accepted the position of traveling
conductor for the order of Railway
Conductors of the Northern Pacific
system. His duties are to settle
disputes between the company and
railroad conductors, and his new
work calls him all over the system.
He left here for Tacoma last week on
a mission, Mr. Hughes has been
appointed by his order to fill a va-
canoy occasioned by the death of
the regularly elected traveling con-
ductor, and should he be elected to
the place in January next will likely
remain permanently in the work.
