The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, of Georgia held its 80th Annual Grand Communication at Augusta, Georgia, June 14, 15, 16, 1949, John Wesley Dobbs, Grand Master presiding.
The public reception was held Tuesday night at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The pastor, Rev. A. L. Lowry, also a member of the Grand Lodge, made a welcome address on behalf of the citizens of Augusta.
Dr. D. H. Stanton, Secretary of the American Bible Society, and also a member of the Order, very ably responded to the welcome addresses.
On Wednesday night, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, the Lodge of Sorrow was beautifully exemplified, in memory of the 108 deceased Master Masons, by the Masonic degree team of Savannah, Georgia.

The Grand Lodge reports showed the Order to be in a very healthy and progressive condition. More than 200 subordinate lodges are enrolled with a membership of over 12,000.
The financial reports showed the Grand Lodge to have on hand June 1, 1949, $112,000 in real estate (no mortgages) and a cash balance of $105,460.71.
The Grand Lodge voted several donations to beneficiaries of deceased Masons and to several charitable causes, among them:
$1,000 to the United Negro College Fund.
$100 to the N. A. A. C. P.
$100 to the Urban League.
$100 to the American Bible Society.

The whole staff of officers were unanimously reelected by acclamation. Peace and Harmony prevailed throughout the session. The Grand Lodge adjourned to meet in Atlanta, Georgia, in June, 1950.
