Last Sunday was real ice, and put joy-riding on the slick.
Mrs. John H. Swift spent the first of the week in St. Louis.
Miss Mollie Town spent the past week with relatives at Farmington.
Mrs. Emma Simmons of Northcutt was a Potosi visitor Saturday.
Mr. Wm. Kincaid and son of Racola were visitors at this office Monday.
Mr. George Weber of Bonne Terre visited kindred here several days last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Patchott have bought a new Chevrolet touring car.
Mr. Chas. W. Shields of Caruthersville, Mo., visited relatives here last Friday.
John Boll of St. Louis and Francis Boll of Bonne Terre spent Sunday at home here.
More than 334,000 motor car licenses have been issued in Missouri so far this year.
Steve Richards went to St. Louis Monday to take in the doings there this week.
Mrs. N. A. Gallagher and Mrs. Foster of Leadwood are the guests of Mrs. Martha Black.
Miss Kate B. Casey of St. Louis is visiting her brother, Mr. L. W. Casey, and family here.
Mr. W. T. Woolford left Monday to spend a ten days' vacation with relatives in Kansas.

Farmington is soon to have free mail delivery service. Two carriers will be required to make the delivery.

Mrs. L. W. Casey, who has been quite ill and under treatment at Townsend's hospital for the past week, is improving at last reports.

Frank Deelue, a former resident of Richwoods, died at his home in Bonne Terre on Sept. 24, aged 54 years. He leaves a widow, who was Miss Mahala Jackson, and nine children.
Dr. and Mrs. Herbert Blount are receiving congratulations upon the arrival on Sept. 29 of their first-born, a daughter, and our friend Hook Blount may now be saluted as grandpa.

County Assessor J. E. Ellis and family of Caledonia were in Potosi Thursday on an auto tour to St. Louis, where Mr. Ellis attended the conference between the county assessors of the state and the members of the State Tax Commission on Friday.
Wm. K. Edgar, a well-known lawyer of Ironton, died on Sept. 26 of apoplexy aged 70 years. He is survived by his wife and five children. He had been practicing law in this district for 47 years and was quite well acquainted in Potosi.
