Alan Lane, well known violinist and teacher presented his students in recital last Sunday at Woodlawn AME church. They were accompanied by Gladys Perry. The house was filled to capacity with an enthusiastic audience and the young people presented an unusually fine program.

Unusually good was the work of young Vaughn Parker, six years old, who played the difficult "Perpetual Motion" by Bohn; and Kermit Dudley's rendition of "Romance" by D'Ambrosio. The audience was very enthusiastic over the "Concerto for Two Violins" (Bach) played by Percy Hines and Ira Gentry Johnson; the "Praeludium and Allegro" (Kreisler) played by Randolph Vaughn with Gloria Vaughn at the piano and the duet "Deep River" by Douglas Fulwood and Edward Ford.

Among the others appearing on the program were Michael Hercules, who played "March" (Heyfurth); Henry McGee, playing "Melody" (Heyfurth); "Harvest Song" played by Barbara Haynes (Heyfurth); "Waltz" (Heyfurth), played by Perman Farmer, Milton Jossey, Ellis Montgomery, Lawrence Jones, Antonio Paez, Richard Laws, and Alexander Johnson.

Another group, Darlene Clay, Millard Frazier, Ernest Crossley, Burrell Berry, played "In Slumberland" (Czernoy); there was an accordion solo played by Patricia Jones. Norman Gonsoulin, Astor Bowser, James Pinson and Jamie English played Brahms "Theme from First Symphony;"

Abran Weaver, Robert Jones and Frank Johns played "Romance" (Schmidt); Dwight Jones, Leon Hughes, Robert Tyler and Ruth McDavid were heard in "A Deserted Garden" by Florence B. Price. Gwendolyn Parker sang a group of songs. William Merrill and George Lockhard played "Polish Airs" arranged by Mellenhaur; Clarence Williams, Beulah Colbert, Hubert M. Johns and Juanita Frazier played the beautiful Bach-Gounod "Ave Maria."

Lawrence Young, Jr., played "Moto Perpetuo" (Bohm) with Lawrence Young, Sr., accompanying.
