Preliminary of Man Charged With Larceny of Automobile Tires Is Conducted in Superior Court Today.
Preliminary hearing of the case of Roy Rein charged with larceny of some automobile tires was being held this afternoon in the superior court before Judge W. L. McNamara. The prosecution was being conducted by County Attorney McManus, assisted by John S. Sprowls. Attorney Ballinger appears for Rein.
Chief of Police Henneman and Patrolman William Wilson were the first witnesses put on the stand. Wilson told of finding the tires, and both officers told of subsequent conversations with Rein at the police station. The third witness was the proprietor of a tire shop, by the name of Hutchinson. He told of Rein bringing two tires to him. All of the witnesses spoke of the mutilated numbers on the tires.
The tires in question are alleged by the state to have been stolen from the Harter Buick garage.
