YORK HOSPITAL
NEW YORK, Feb. 26 (ANP)- The first administrative internship established at Sydenham hospital under its new ruling of including hospital management in its program of training hospital personnel, has been awarded to Frank B. Adair, the first Negro to win this recognition in any voluntary hospital in America.
In making the announcement, David M. Dorin, executive director of the hospital, said that Mr. Adair "was awarded the appointment on the basis of his marked personal and professional qualifications," after completing six months of a fellowship in hospital administration at Sydenham.
Mr. Adair was graduated from Morehouse college, Atlanta, where he majored in economics and sociology. He then went to Harvard university's graduate school of business administration at Cambridge and afterward taught business administration for two years at Langston university, Okla. His professional experience includes four years as chief business officer at Arkansas State college; two years as business manager of Dillard university, New Orleans, and two years as production manager and administrative officer at Tuskegee institute.
