MATCH TRUST FACES FINE.

Liable to $19,000 Penalty for Violating Child Labor Laws.

Madison, Wis., Dec. 11.—What is declared to be the most far reaching and most significant prosecution ever brought under the child labor laws of America was instituted by the state of Wisconsin against the Diamond Match company, known as the "Trust."

Service was secured in charges involving fines aggregating $19,900. This is the maximum total possible under the statutes which provide for a fine of from $25 to $100 for each specific violation of the law.
