Full Text

Extract of a letter from Vigo, May 27.

A French privateer has brought in here an English ship from Newfoundland, bound to Bilboa, with fish, said to be the property of Spanish merchants residing there. She is therefore ordered to be detained, application having been made for that purpose till the matter can be examined into and determined. This is not the first instance of the kind in our ports, and it was thought that the French would not, from the trouble they have received about prizes, bring any more in that were bound to any place in this kingdom.
