This is the inhuman Murder that Mr. Richard Coleman suffered for. Various have been the Opinions touching the Guilt of that poor Man, who left the World declaring his Innocence in the most solemn Manner. Providence, the wise Disposer of all Things, has now cleared up the Obscurity of that Fact, and these Miscreants, who have been guilty of a double Murder, brought to their deserved Punishment.
This is the second Instance within these few Years of the Innocent suffering Death wrongfully in the County of Surry. How shocking to human Nature! And how careful ought Mankind to be how they swear, where the Life of their Fellow-Creatures are concerned! For according to the old Adage, it is better that Ninety-nine guilty Persons should escape, than one Innocent Person suffer.
