NEWPORT NEWS.

Formation of A Regiment.-Mark Mundy. Esq., has been authorized to form a regiment in Kentucky, and will proceed to do so at once. The regiment is to join the United States service under General Anderson, and will be quartered for the present in Coles's Garden, a short distance up the Licking River. The men will be mustered into the service in squads as soon as enlisted, and will receive pay for their time thereafter. Mr. Mundy will undoubtedly complete the regiment soon. As enlistment, which has been waiting for a few days for the action of the Legislature, has commenced afresh under the impetus of the invasion of Kentucky by the rebels at Hickman and Columbus, Captain Threkild will proceed to fill his company immediately.
