In the British House of Commons, Mr. Addington moved on the 19th of May, an Address to the king, which was unanimously agreed to, requesting him to have erected a monument to the memory of General Abercromby, on the same day thanks were voted to Admiral Keith, Sir Richard Bickerton, &c. And on the 20th Lord Hobart presented to the Lords a message from the king, stating that he had granted to Lady Abercromby, the dignity of Baroness and a pension of £2000 a year.

On the 21st, the guards, drafted for Egypt, marched for Portsmouth. Six regiments of cavalry, five of infantry, and a corps of artillery, comprise the reinforcements under orders for Egypt, which are to be convoyed by 3 ships of the line, with frigates under the command of Rear-Admiral Pole.
