Full Text

Extract of a letter from London, May 25.

"You may possibly have heard something of the riots and combinations among the lower set of people that have lately broke out, all in consequence of Mr. Wilkes's arrival here; matters now are a little quieter, though far from being yet settled, and it is hard to tell what will be the issue—the Parliament is far from being his friend, in so much that though he is chosen one of the members for Middlesex, and is in confinement, he has not been once taken notice of in the House, the members having industriously avoided mentioning his name."
