On last Friday, (Feb. 22d), a deranged man quietly walked into the residence of Mr. Jno. Young, of this place, says the McConnelsville Herald, and seated himself by the fire.

He was placed in the custody of the Sheriff, who had him shaved, his hair dressed, washed, and a clean suit of clothes put on him, when he was taken to the Infirmary.

He says his name is Peter Adams--is about five feet ten inches in height--about 40 years of age--is said to be a German, says he has been wandering about through the woods--talks about California, Cincinnati, and many other places in a wandering manner.
