Incendiaries.—Burglarious attempts have several times been made, to enter stores, in this city, within the last few weeks, but without success, and consequently without public notice. On Saturday night these attempts were renewed on the stores of John Hunt & Co. and F. T. Jarman & Co. They partially succeeded in prying off the near shutters of Messrs. Jarman's store, by starting the frame work to which they were attached, but did not accomplish their object. They succeeded in entering the premises adjacent of Messrs. Hunt & Co. but found little to gratify their cupidity. They attempted again to enter Messrs. J's. store by a passage from Hunt & Co's. but were again foiled, and finally decamped. There can be no doubt there is a band of incendiaries among us, and the citizens should be on their guard.
