VIENNA, April 8.

ALTHOUGH it cannot be said that the troubles in Bohemia are entirely appeased, yet it is not to be doubted but that they will soon, by the wise measures the Court has taken. Tranquillity already reigns in some parts, even where the rebellion was hottest, by the good management of General Oliver Wallis, who has caused several of the rebels to be hanged, and taken two of their chiefs who were formerly officers, and two others are closely pursued, who had been Captains in our troops, and broke for their bad conduct. One rebel has been likewise hanged at Prague. The last letters from Bohemia mention, that the rebels have plundered sixteen castles which belong to noblemen who studied to make the peasants as happy as possible; among the rest, that of Count Ernest Harach, who, when the famine and contagious sickness reigned in Bohemia, built an hospital for the peasants, and supplied them with corn and every thing they wanted, which cost him upwards of 40,000 Imperial florins. They treated the Countess of Britchinky, who had just lain in, in a most cruel manner, dragging her out of bed, and throwing her child at her feet, then saw them both die in extreme misery. The Countess de la Motte likewise died of a fright. The same letters add, that those peasants who have not absolutely entered into the rebellion refuse to work, pretending that if they did, their neighbours would plunder their habitations.
