Full Text
The following Counties compose our present Congressional District, as arranged by the House of Delegates, to wit: Bath, Augusta, Rockbridge, Alleghany, Greenbrier and Pocahontas. When the question was taken on this subject, on motion of Mr. Dunton, the Yeas and Nays were ordered, from an examination of which, we see that the Greenbrier Delegate voted in favour of the arrangement. We have no room for comments, but cannot forbear the expression of our opinion, that in attaching Greenbrier to the counties above named her interests were not properly consulted. The Senate has yet to act on this subject: we hope they will make such amendments, as will better suit the wishes of the people here.
