Woman Slain And Man Takes Own Life
JACKSON, MISS.—(ANP)—Bessie Mae McMullen was shot and killed here just last week by Percy Talton, 36, who then turned the gun on himself. He died instantly.
Sheriff's deputies said Miss McMullen told them she had been going with Talton for some time, but recently they had parted after a quarrel.
On the day of the shooting, Talton called her to come to his store. Another argument began soon after she arrived and the shooting followed.
The 24-year-old woman died in Baptist hospital the day after the shooting.
