-The Scioto Gazette says:-

Talk of romance. It is about us on every hand. If the roofs of our houses could be lifted and the truth told what revelations would stare at us? These reflections are suggested by a recent event in this city, (Chillicothe). A gentleman removed here last summer from a neighboring town. With him came a gentleman and his wife, the party having been married some years. The first named gentleman soon after his arrival lost his wife, and a few weeks since a wedding was announced to come off at one of our hotels. The party arrived. when the gentleman who had lost his wife came into the room, and leaning on his arm was the reputed wife of his friend. And they were married.
The reputed husband was present,
and was the first to offer his congratulations to the new bride and her husband. It may be supposed that there was some degree of astonishment on the part of those present at this new phase of the matrimonial relations of the parties.
