Tables Installed for that Purpose at the Anchor Mill.
Some important changes and improvements have just been made at the Anchor mill by Foreman Kesler, says the Park Record. A room large enough to accommodate two Wilfley tables has been excavated under the table floor proper, and two tables for making zinc ore have been installed; also a sand pump to carry the product to the zinc dump across the road from the mill without handling. These tables are connected from the tables above with launders and the middlings from the table room above are to be run over the zinc tables, which will extract the lead from them, leaving the zinc for market. Foreman Kesler estimates that from ten to twenty tons of zinc ore can be piled up daily on the dump. In all likelihood Mayne & Leonard will secure this product, which will mean the building of another plant here. A new Wilfley table of the latest improved pattern is also being added to the mill making a total of ten Wilfleys and one Johnson table for the plant, with fourteen canvas tables fifty feet long for handling the slimes. A 32x12 foot coal house is now going up for the purpose of storing coal, while other minor improvements are under way. The zinc tables were put in operation last night, and everything is running smoothly, without a hitch. The Anchor mill is now a very complete plant.
