POLICE DOINGS FOR TWO DAYS

Three Chinese and one Hawaiian have been rounded up for gambling at a joint on Kukui and River streets, also fifteen old hands at it from Kakaako. This latter is a bad bunch of pakes and their bail has been set accordingly. A negro and three more pakes from Printer's lane, the extension of Hotel street from Punchbowl street, were too slow getting away with their cards and money. As a result $12.15 and three packs of cards will be placed before the judge this morning as evidence of their gambling operations.

Mrs. Chas. Wagner and Miss Virginia Jones, having indulged in a hair-pulling match, will tell their trouble at 9:30.

Also eighteen drunks will enlighten the court and County Attorney's office as to the technical definition of "a good time."

Two pakes who failed to move on will try to show that having a warm discussion, possibly on the awakening of China, is not committing a common nuisance as the police allege.

The bill closes with an interesting discussion between a Jap and the magistrate as to what constitutes cruelty to animals.

These, with hold-over cases, are the interesting program for Judge Whitney's auditorium. A large attendance is expected, in the gallery especially.
