Senate Naval Affairs Committee Will Query
Admiral King

WASHINGTON, Mar. 30 - The
navy's anti-submarine campaign in
the Atlantic came under the scrutiny
of Congress today as Senator
David I. Walsh of Massachusetts,
Chairman of the Senate Naval
Affairs Committee, said he probably
will call on Admiral Ernest J.
King for an inquiry into the effectiveness
of counter measures against
the Nazi sea raiders.

Senator Walsh told reporters that
the committee has received many
requests to look into the organization
of surface and air patrols combating
the subs which have sunk some 70
merchant vessels since they invaded
the coastal and Caribbean waters.
