Last Tuesday arrived here Capt. John Gowell in 14 Days from Louisbourg, by whom we have the following Account, viz.
Louisbourg, Aug. 4.
Mr. John Moss returned here with 14 Indians, who came to pay their Submission to His Excellency General Whitmore, and sign Articles of Peace; His Excellency received them with great Marks of Friendship, and ordered them all to be cloath'd. There is one Chief and 12 more Indians expected in every Day on the same Account. N. B. Said Mr. Moss was the Hostage left at St. Picto last Winter, and the Person who brought the first Indians into Fort Cumberland, and sent the first to His Excellency Gen. Lawrence.
Capt. Gowell informs, that the Mines were all in Readiness to blow up the Fortifications of Louisbourg, which he supposes is effected before now.
