WASHINGTON President Eisenhower is getting more mail these days opposing the offshore oil grab than he has on any subject since entering the White House.

The mail asks him to reverse himself on the vital question of rights to offshore oil deposits-- Eisenhower has favored giving it to the states.

Sen. Robert Taft, says Columnist Thomas L. Stokes, was bombarded with door-to-door petitions signed in Cleveland, opposing the offshore oil grab.

The opposition was centered on the Holland oil give-away bill, which is before the Senate.
