Ga. Shuns NAACP Bid

ATLANTA—The Georgia Commission on Education, set up to formulate plans for public school legislation, ignored a recent request of the Georgia State NAACP for an opportunity to appear before the Commission for the purpose of submitting the Association's plan to implement the Supreme Court's decision of May 17 banning segregation in the public schools.

The Commission met June 9 and received plans for continuing segregation submitted by the gubernatorial candidates.

The NAACP sought the opportunity to place before the Commission a plan ending segregation.
