Seasonable Hints.
As the weather has become decidedly winterish during the past week or two, we would admonish house keepers who have water pipes upon their premises to turn off the flow at night, in order that a freeze and consequent bursting of the pipe may be averted. Immense damage sometimes results from the bursting of a water pipe. Gas meters in exposed situations should also be blanketed or otherwise protected these cold nights, as the water in them may congeal, and thus cut off the illuminating supplies.-Rich. Whig.
