CONNECTICUT ELECTION.

The annual election of Governor, members of the Senate, and other State officers, took place in Connecticut, on the 1st Monday of the month; and, as was anticipated by those who have watched the current of events, it resulted in the triumph of the Van Burenites, by an increased majority over that of last year. In producing this result, local feuds unquestionably exerted no little influence; but the more operative cause was doubtless the congeniality of sentiment between the old federalists of that State, who have almost uniformly held the ascendancy in their councils, and the "democratic republican" nominee of the Rucker Convention. We ask the true Republicans of Virginia whether they are ready for the fraternal hug of National Conventionists?
