Cornerstone Will Be Laid Saturday

A. M. Showalter, of Christiansburg, Grand Master, Will Preside and Make Keynote Speech

-Nearby Lodges Invited.

A. M. Showalter, of Christiansburg Grand Master of Virginia Masons, will be the chief speaker Saturday at Tazewell, when the corner stone of the new Masonic building at this place is to be laid. Besides the chief address by Mr. Showalter, several local Masons will make short talks.

Tazewell Lodge, No. 62; O'Keeffe Chapter, No. 26, and Clinch Valley Commandery will take part in the ceremony. Lodges from the following towns have been invited to take part: Richlands, Bluefield, Pocahontas, Cedar Bluff, Tip Top, Honaker, Grundy, Lebanon and Berwind, and it is hoped that a large delegation from these points will be present for the occasion.

The ceremonies will begin at 2:30 Saturday afternoon, immediately after the Lodge has been opened.

The handsome cornerstone was furnished by the Muire Monumental Works, Inc., of Pulaski, Virginia The stone will contain the following:

Names of the officers and members of Tazewell Lodge, No. 62; O'Keeffe Chapter, No. 26, Clinch Valley Commandery, No. 20;

Names of building committee of new temple

Architect and contractor of new temple.

Officers and Council of the Town of Tazewell

Officers of Tazewell County.

Names of churches and pastors in the Town of Tazewell

The new temple was erected at a cost of $19,000 and is occupied on the first floor by the Painter Motor and Machinery Co. R. O. Vandyke has his coal offices on part of the second floor. The temple was built by J. Clarence Heldreth, and his brother, Joe Brown Heldreth, was foreman. The painting on the interior was by J. G. Barnett and son, and the plumbing by John Hawkins and his son, Jack.
