PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 15.

Extract of a Letter from Barbados, June 21.

I am sorry to acquaint you that there arrived yesterday, an account of a new insurrection at the estate of Mr. Fowke, a gentleman of Barbados; the Negroes have destroyed a Manager and his servant; the estate is called Perry-Wood, and situated in Bloody-bay. A party of volunteers and soldiers went against the Negroes, who fled towards the mountains, where they made a stand and gave one fire by which they wounded a volunteer and Mr. Alexander Campbell, very dangerously; they were fired upon in return by the soldiers, &c. which occasioned their throwing themselves precipitately down a steep hill; it is imagined the white party wounded many of the Negroes very desperately, as they were extremely near when they fired; they left behind them a good deal of ammunition which they had taken from the estate. It is supposed the ring-leader of the former insurrection is at the head of this as he is not yet taken.
