Many of the federal Editors are amusing themselves with sneers and sarcasms at Congress for now-and-then debating or deliberating with "closed doors!" The Situation of our country with regard to foreign nations, is allowed on all hands to be critical and momentous—to require all the prudence as well as energy of Government—yet these same editors, who bluster so much and boast so loudly of their patriotism, would rather that all the ministers, agents and spies of Britain, France, and Spain, should be acquainted with every measure contemplated by Congress relative to their respective nations, and of course that those nations should be prepared to defeat any such measures, than confide in the virtue, honor, duty, interest and oaths of the Representatives of the People in Congress assembled!—We suspect these Editors are apprehensive some blow is meditated at their beloved Britain. and that it will fall so secretly and suddenly as not to give her a chance of warding it off---we trust their fears will be realized, if redress for past wrongs and a guarantee against future injuries, are not speedily given us by that nation.
