PRINCESS THEATRE TO
OPEN MIDDLE OF MAY

Complete Structure Erected By Local Contractors and To Be Ready May 15th.

The Princess Theatre on Main St., property of the Arkansas Amusement Enterprise, will be completed on or about May 15th. This will be the second theatre in this city to be owned and operated by the same company. The other theatre being the Majestic.

In awarding contracts to contractors, the Arkansas Amusement Enterprise always, when possible, gives local bidders the preference and in the construction of the Princess here, all contracts are awarded to Stuttgart contractors. H. C. Ogletree was awarded the concrete and construction work and O. J. Holland the wiring. The painting and decorating will be done by a local man under the direction of an artist. Frank Whetstone received the contract for plastering and artistic decorating on the exterior.

M. S. McCord, who is one of the officials, informed the Grand Prairie News that the Princess Theatre would be used most as a popular price theatre, and that the Majestic would be used as a playhouse for the more exclusive or expensive pictures, thus guaranteeing the amusement loving public of this community "a show to fit every purse." He also informed us that many thousands of dollars would be spent in making the Majestic a modern up-to-date playhouse. The Majestic will be closed for repairs as soon as the new Princess opens.

Wm. Gibson, local young man, will be in charge of both theatres, and through the newspapers of the city will keep the public informed of programs a week in advance.
