CALL FOR MEETING
City Council and Local Medical
Association Will Meet
in Joint Session.
Mayor Caven has invited the local
medical association to meet with the
City Council at the city hall on the
evening of October 17th. This is a
special called meeting of the Mayor
made necessary on account of the
prevalence of the typhoid fever in the
city, and it is the expectation that as
a result of the joint meeting of the
City Council, together with the local
medical association, ways and means
will be formulated and ordered carried
out by the Council which will insure a
stop to the spread of the disease at
the present time, which no doubt is
being caused by the prevalence of some
unhealthy condition in some part of the
city.
The Review hopes to see the joint
meeting accomplish this purpose.
There has been no falling off in the
number of cases at the hospitals during
the past week. Two additional cases
were reported yesterday. The Council
should take vigorous action to carry
the recommendation of the local medical
association into effect, and the meeting
will result in much good.
