ACCOUNTS FROM MARTINICO.

By Capt. Porter, of the Sloop Peggy, who arrived here yesterday, 14 days from Martinico, we are informed, that on the 14th day of January the National flag was hoisted in that island and Guadaloupe, and that the emigrants were returning very fast, and tranquility in a great measure restored. That the late law respecting unlimited exportation was repealed, and sugar, coffee, cocoa and cotton prohibited from being taken off after the tenth day of February. That great exactness was required in the entries and clearances of the vessels of strangers: After clearance at the Custom-House they are visited by a deputation from the French Merchantmen: That one vessel having coffee on board had been seized at St. Pierre: That no Englishmen were in future to be admitted, and those in port ordered to depart within a limited time. That produce was rising rapidly, and was hard to be obtained: American produce very low.

A vessel arrived here on Thursday, in 20 days from the Island of Martinico. On the 29th January, tranquility prevailed. As many of the royalists as could obtain passage, have left the island; and a large fleet, with troops, were daily expected to arrive there from France. The spirits of the patriotic planters of those French islands were much raised: as the National Convention had appropriated 40 odd millions of livres; for remunerating their losses, and refurnishing the plantations with slaves.
