Post OFFICE REFORM.-We give in another column a report of the proceedings at the meeting in this city yesterday of the friends of cheap postage and a reform of the Post Office Department. It is fully time for all who really desire to see that great and beneficent measure effected, to move in its favor. There is sufficient ground for the apprehension that it may be defeated in the House, to justify and demand the most energetic and prompt demonstrations throughout the country, in favor of the immediate passage of the bill. If any other great public question be lost sight of in the dust and tumult of faction, let not this measure of Post Office reform be permitted to fall to the ground. It can be decided in a day or two in the House, and now is the time for the people to speak out and demand that it be at once passed upon and made law.
