ROYAL REGALIA FOR CORONATION OF KING GEORGE VI

These are new official photographs of the British royal regalia which will be used in the coronation of King George VI in London May 12. At left are the solid silver state trumpets, each with a silk banneret bearing the royal arms embroidered in red and gold. Upper center: golden orbs of royalty, the King's on the left, the Queen's on the right. Lower left: the state crown, worn after the coronation for special state functions. Lower right: the ampulla, receptacle for consecrated oil to anoint the King. Right: the royal sceptre and sword. (Associated Press Photos)
