"The New Hampshire Patriot claims 148 Locos, and only 138 Whigs in the House—ten majority; but to do this claims the Abolitionists elected in Kensington, Plaistow, New London, Newtown, and the member from Gosport. It is, we apprehend, indisputable that the Radicals have the control of the House, but we do not believe they will ever see a majority of ten, or half that amount. Four more Whig votes in Portsmouth would have given us the whole of that delegation, made a net difference of twelve, and saved the House! By how close a tenure, then, does Locofocoism enjoy its famous victory in New Hampshire. Another year will set things right."
