H. B. NO. 30.
As will be seen in our Legislative report, the Ways and Means Committee of the House has reported adversely to the passage of H. B. No. 30. This is the bill which contemplates the publication of the enactments of the present Legislature in three of the Territorial newspapers, at an enormous expense to the people, and which became notorious in its timely exposure and fearless denunciation by the HERALD. The committee is entitled to great credit for its intervention in behalf of the over-burdened, tax-ridden people of Montana. The House will unquestionably shape its action on the measure in accordance with the recommendation of the committee, and in a day or two we shall probably be gratified with the receipt of the news that the bill has "gone to its death."
