GERMANS WILL BE SHOT DOWN

Capital Punishment Will Be Meted Out to Those Caught in Crime.

DUSSELDORF, Feb. 8.—Germans caught tampering with railroad equipment or signals or otherwise endangering the lives of travelers will be executed.

This announcement was made today by the French military authorities.

This threat is the first of capital punishment made by the occupying authorities.

Sentries have been ordered to fire on persons approaching crossings towards stations in the occupied area and refusing to halt when commanded.

German men are threatening German women with shorn heads if seen conversing with French soldiers in the occupied regions.
