Mr Ingham, late Secretary of the Treasury in the Jackson Cabinet, expresses the following opinion, in an address to the public. It is a remarkable fact, that the only political enemies Ex-President Adams now has, are found among the most active partizans of Mr Clay:
"The most exalted tribunal in the world, [the American people] has passed upon Mr Adams' public character, and so anxious was that tribunal to execute its sentence, that it has with less consideration, I fear, put a much worse man in his place."
