Preparing for His Reception in
Richmond, Va.

RICHMOND,
VA., Oct. 30.-The programme for the reception of President
Hayes and party is now fully completed.
The Reception Committee left here
this morning at 8 o'clock, and will meet
the Presidential train beyond Freder-
icksburg.
The distinguished party will
reach this city at 2:30 P.M.,
and will be
escorted to the corner
of Franklin and Belvidere streets, where
a large platform has been erected, fur-
nished with seats for the Presidential
party and prominent citizens, and from
which Judge Meredith will deliver an
address of welcome.
After the Judge's speech and the
President's response, the procession, to
be composed of military and civic or-
ganizations, will move along Franklin
street to Fifth, along Fifth to Grace,
down Grace to Ninth, down Ninth to
Main, and down Main street to the Ex-
change Hotel.
The Virginia State Agricultural So-
ciety will, on their part, observe the fol-
lowing programme: The President of
the Society, the Ex-Presidents, and the
members of the Executive Committee
will, in a body, call on President Hayes
at the Exchange Hotel this evening and
pay their respects.
