Railway in Maine. - It might be worthy of the consideration of the State of Maine, which it is said, is about to make a road from the Kennebec to the St. Lawrence, to cause some estimates to be made, and laid before the Government of that State, showing the cost of a wooden tram railway, such as was first used in England, from the point which it is intended to unite by a common road. Then to compare the cost of one to that of the other.

If a communication by Railway were established between Montreal, Quebec, and Hallowell, there would then be a perfect circuit of easy travelling from New-York, round to New-York again. And it may be fairly presumed that the pleasure of travelling alone, would pay the interest on the cost of the road; giving life and business to the very centre of Maine. - Patriot.
