Napa, Cal., Dec. 6. (By the Associated Press). Three years after a burned skeleton was found in his summer cottage at Lake Nebagammon, Wisconsin, which was identified and buried as his, Edward J. Sailstad, was arrested near here yesterday on the charge of arson. With him was Dorothy Anderson, of Chicago, a stenographer, who is held for further questioning. Sailstad confessed, according to officials, robbing the store of Allen McFee, placing his body in the cottage and burning it to get the insurance to solve the financial difficulties of his phonograph company and to flee with Miss Anderson. Mrs. Sailstad admitted that her husband was dead before she began action to collect sixty-two thousand dollars insurance and later married Ross Richardson. The life insurance companies refused payment, denying that Sailstad's death had been caused at the fire and on it. No insurance paid. Appeal taken and hearing under way in the circuit court of an appeal.
